Putting School Leadership to the Test: What it Will Take to Recruit, Develop and Support Principals in Illinois

The Wallace Foundation and The Chicago Public Education Fund will host a forum to discuss lessons from a new report on leading principal training programs and how they can inform efforts to recruit, develop and support school leaders in Illinois and, specifically, the Chicago Public Schools. The report, prepared by Stanford University's Linda Darling-Hammond, suggests that states must implement a comprehensive set of strategies to ensure that leaders have the skills and knowledge necessary to meet ever-increasing federal and state targets for performance.
