Can Talent Really Move the Needle on Student Achievement?
The Chicago Public Education Fund hosted human capital leaders from Chicago , D.C ., Denver , Long Beach and San Diego for a panel focused on human capital as the way to drive better outcomes for students. Panelists joined keynote speakers Ron Huberman, CEO of Chicago Public Schools, and Penny Pritzker, Fund Chairman, and Moderator, Janet Knupp, Fund Founding President and CEO, as we explored what human capital leaders in the nation's leading-edge urban school systems are doing to promote excellence at all levels.

Our Path Forward
We were thrilled to have Mayor Rahm Emanuel speak at the event and celebrate our partnership with City Hall and Chicago Public Schools. After a welcome by our Vice Chairman Helen Zell, Chairman Brain Simmons outlined our path forward and new strategic investments, described below. Brian led an engaging conversation with CPS CEO Jean-Claude Brizard, who shared his vision for the district, its alignment with The Fund, and the importance of private partnerships in catalyzing change and creating a world-class school system.
