She said The Fund invested in the creation and validation of this tool as part of CPS’ new online hiring process because, “We wanted to find ways where teacher potential could be measured at the time of application.”

Ben Kutylo, a Fund program manager, discussed The Fund’s role in creating a recommended teacher evaluation framework that “ranks among the most progressive in the nation and will inform critical decisions and negotiations for the new administration.” He also discussed the Fund’s support of an ambitious teacher outreach project that included 2,200 teachers in 200 schools – feedback that will inform decisions around the new performance evaluation system

The Chicago Public Education Fund Announces new Chairman, transition plan The Fund launches search for new CEO, strategic review to align priorities with new CPS administration The Fund announced today that Brian Simmons will succeed Penny Pritzker as the organization’s new chairman. After Mayor Rahm Emmanuel asked Pritzker to join the Board of Education for the Chicago Public Schools, she informed The Fund Board that she was resigning her position as Fund chairman and director. Simmons will lead a strategic review process that will culminate in the hiring of a new chief executive officer and the development of a revised set of strategic goals for the nationally recognized non-profit.
